BLAIR’S FINAL ACT OF TREACHERY BEFORE DEPARTURE?

Mr. Tony Blair---our very own Princess Tony, has hinted he might now stand down from ruining our country in June this year and not in May as he first suggested. Why the extra month we might ask ourselves, especially as his life after No. 10 promises to be one of great wealth for very little effort We have his memoirs to look forward to (though he never kept a diary) and the American lecture circuit beckons, where it is said many people will pay silly amounts of money merely to here him speak. Weird but true! You would have thought they would have learned from us. After ten years of listening to his drivel, at great expense to this nation’s taxpayers, we have had more than enough. His legacy to our country is one of abject failure, so what words of wisdom he will impart to the Americans one can only guess. Mind you, compared to George Bush, even Princess Tony’s words will sound half reasonable. The Americans are welcome to Blair and his half-baked ideas.
So, why drag out his long over-due departure from No.10? Is it due to a meeting of European leaders, which takes place in June, and the fact Tony wishes to attend as the Prime Minister of this country, with whatever power he still retains? On the agenda at that meeting will be the revival of the European Constitution. Yes, that same Constitution spectacularly kicked into touch by the French and the Dutch by a referendum in their respective countries. The whole idea of a European Constitution should have been killed off by the NO votes in France and Holland, but ‘democratic’ NO votes mean nothing to those in power in Brussels. Half of the measures rejected in the two countries that held a referendum have been implemented regardless, despite there being no mandate.
It is being suggested that Princess Tony, in an act of sheer spite, will tie us into a mutated version of the constitution (think federalism) before he finally retires, without bothering to put it to a vote. We won’t get a referendum! It will merely be ‘nodded through’ in our so-called ‘Mother of Parliaments’---and the taxpaying voters will just have to accept it.
