WHO PAYS THE PIPER CALLS THE TUNE"
This
well-known old saying is simple enough to understand, but somehow its
simple message is conveniently lost to the ever-growing army of people
who are in charge of our lives and whose wages are paid for by the public
purse. Make no mistake about it, in our so-called democratic society,
the overburdened taxpayer is merely expected to pay ever-rising levels
of taxation but has absolutely no choice of tune to which he or she
may wish to dance. Our modern breed of public ‘servants’
(for like it or not, that is what people paid for by taxpayers money
are) take obscene amounts of our money and dance to their own tune,
leaving us standing like wall-flowers wondering if we’ll ever
be invited to the party we pay for.
Let’s get one important fact straight! Governments don’t have any money. They only have OUR MONEY. This present government in particular has squeezed more and more from the hapless taxpayer over the last ten years to the point where Mr. Gordon Brown has now achieved the accolade of the highest taxing Chancellor in history. I doubt he has sleepless nights wondering how he is going to pay his personal tax bill however; he leaves that to the people who pay his wages... the taxpayers! At this point it is important to state this site is not affiliated to, or in league with, any political party. We are not Socialists/Communists, Tories, Liberals, Greens-Pinks or whatever; we have no truck with the BNP or any other Nationalist party... and that includes the Irish, Welsh and the Scots. We merely believe in Democracy. True Democracy. The rule of the majority by ‘elected’ representatives in a Parliament, which practises open debate on all issues concerning its paymasters...THE TAXPAYING VOTERS. Our present government no longer allows open public debate. I doubt if many of our present MP’s even know what debate means. The likes of John Prescott, our Deputy Prime Minister, probably thinks it’s something he needs to catch de’ fish. Since Ted Heath signed us up to the biggest confidence trick in history, the innocuous sounding ‘Common Market’, allegedly a simple ‘Trading Partnership’, our country has seen the stealthily crafted demise of what was the finest example of Parliamentary Democracy in the world. I don’t pretend it was perfect... nothing is or ever will be. By comparison with other systems of government around the world however, ours was something to which other countries could only aspire. Our present government, led by Princess Tony, has done more in the last ten years to hasten the outright destruction of our hard won democratic freedoms than any other government since the early 1970’s. Since we joined the ‘Common Market’ (how absurd that term now seems) successive governments have betrayed us all one way or another, but none have gone so far as the present self-seeking bunch of non-entities who plunder the public purse, spin the most outrageous lies on a daily basis and practice deceit on an Olympian scale. All politicians tell ‘porkies’, that is an unfortunate fact of life. The scale to which our present government have taken the art of spinning untruths is nothing less than inspired.
